Description
Catalina 13cu-ft Aluminium Dive Cylinder
The Catalina 13cu-ft Aluminium Dive Cylinder has been the staple cylinders in the diving industry for many years. As opposed to steel, aluminium doesn’t rust. Instead, it oxidizes which forms a protective coat which hinders the continuation of corrosion. Thus, aluminium tanks are less likely to be condemned due to excessive corrosion. As a result, aluminium tanks are a considerably cheaper alternative to steel cylinders.
Catalina purposely designed and manufactured these cylinders to be rough enough for both sport and rental gear diving. Therefore, divers, dive operators and retail dive stores use these tanks more than any other type of tank available.
The tanks are also suitable as large stage/pony tanks for technical divers going really deep, or having long decompression times, to carry an enriched Nitrox mix, such as EAN50 to accelerate decompression times on accents. Therefore the tank is fantastic choice of dive cylinder and capable of many different uses.
Optional add-on: a Tank valve
If purchasing the tank with a valve, you will receive a DIN valve with Yoke adapter. Above all, valve itself is a heavy duty design. Furthermore, it has a smooth operating mechanism and multi-ported burst disc plug for added safety. This is one of the highest flow cylinder valves available today.
If you want to use the tank with a DIN regulator, you simply remove the adapter, and vice versa. As a result, this DIN/YOKE design allows divers to be free to choose which configuration they wish to use.
DIN: 200-300 bar pressure rating and is more common in technical diving
